Dismantling an Arizona organized retail theft ring

In Arizona, a criminal network used a Glendale-based commercial storefront as a hub where professional shoplifters delivered stolen high-value goods—particularly Blu-Ray discs and DVDs—to be resold through an Amazon storefront.

Amazon provided critical data and investigative support to the task force led by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. That support enabled investigators to map the movement of illicit goods and link physical thefts directly to storefront sales. The collaboration contributed to the indictment of 24 individuals and the Glendale-based business in August 2025. Defendants face multiple felony charges including organized retail theft, fraud, money laundering, and conducting an illegal enterprise.
