Between July 2023 and August 2024, Amazon’s Counterfeit Crimes Unit identified fraudulent services circumventing product authentication processes by submitting falsified documentation—fake invoices, doctored certificates, altered product images—allowing sellers who purchased their services to pass listing checks without legitimate proof of authenticity.
Amazon used undercover test purchases, forensic document analysis, metadata examination linking photos to defendants’ locations, and direct supplier verification to confirm fraud. Amazon filed five federal lawsuits and shut down six distinct services that circumvented product authentication processes, including The Funnel Guru, Reinstated Pros, Ungating Wizard, Aesmart, Amz-expert, and EzUngate.
