In February 2025, Amazon joined two prominent UK organizations—The Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) and the UK IP Crime Group (IPCG)—expanding collaboration with UK law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and industry leaders. The collaboration generated a marked increase in quality leads and direct engagement from law enforcement, a result of Amazon’s anti-counterfeiting resources.

Through the ACG, Amazon received intelligence about UK-based counterfeiters under investigation, including specific details about suspicious addresses and companies. These insights led to the identification of multiple bad actors and supported ground-level enforcement actions while strengthening Amazon’s ability to block identified threats. As Simon Gerwitz, IP Crime Group Delivery Manager at the Intellectual Property Office, notes: “Strong partnerships between industry, government and law enforcement are a key building block of collective effective efforts to address counterfeiting and piracy”.
