A new Memorandum of Understanding between Amazon and French Customs strengthens existing cooperation in the fight against counterfeiting for the benefit of consumers, trademarks, and rights holders. This signature marks a significant step forward in consumer and brand protection in the face of a challenge that concerns the entire commercial sector.

The aim of this protocol is to promote the sharing of information in the fight against counterfeiting and to strengthen operational cooperation, in support of the actions carried out jointly by French Customs and Amazon. This collaboration aims to eradicate counterfeiting from the global supply chain, identify the actors behind these fraudulent practices, conduct the necessary investigations, and prosecute the actors involved.

“From day one, our ambition has been to offer consumers a wide choice of products at low prices, while ensuring a safe and trusted shopping experience. To effectively combat counterfeiting, the private sector and public authorities must work hand in hand and this partnership with French Customs demonstrates our commitment to protecting consumers and brands.” - Yohann Bénard, Director of Public Affairs Europe, Digital, Amazon
