In 2024, Amazon signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, and Ministry of Agriculture to promote and protect the authenticity of Italian products, combat counterfeiting, and support the digitalization and internationalization of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises. Following this,

Amazon contributed to the development of the IP Education Plan, an education initiative designed to support the international growth of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Made in Italy products.

The collaboration involves the three Ministries, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE Agenzia), the Ministry of Agriculture Department for anti-fraud and quality protection of agri-food products (ICQRF), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the Guardia di Finanza and industry representatives. It delivers eight country-specific seminars providing SMEs with essential knowledge to invest and scale to new geographies. Each seminar features a successful Italian SME sharing its export experience in a specific part of the world, while Amazon presents its brand protection tools.

This collaboration with Italian Institutions in promoting and safeguarding the value of Made in Italy products is part of Amazon’s strong commitment to protecting authentic Italian goods.
